Kate is a felted/mixed media textile artist. She is currently making quirky and narrative one-off pieces, mainly based around her memory of childhood – her own and those of others. Stories, toys and gentle animations are the roots of her imaginings and making. Her characters and their narratives vary in their construction and include a variety of materials and simple techniques with needle felting very much her focus.

Cloth, leather, wood, wire and fleece are the staple materials used - and construction techniques include needle felting, hand and machine stitch and simple woodwork.

Kate says she hopes her wonderful creations might come to life one day, carrying on the story and adventures that she's made for them...
