Judith Brown: Wire Butterflies & Insects workshop

Create decorative wire insect inspired by butterflies, moths and dragonflies that you could hang on the wall or be free standing. Judith will show you how to use wire and beads to make your own unique insect, you can work from one of Judith's nature inspired templates, personalising it with your own choice of colours and decoration, or you can design your own with her expert guidance. You can choose silver plated wire or copper wire for the base of your insect, or you might choose to oxidise the copper wire to create a rich dark grey colour. There will be a variety of coloured glass beads and coloured wires to choose from to add detail to your piece. You can take inspiration from real butterflies, or you can use your imagination for your colour palettes and shapes. For an idea of size, finished insects are usually around 10-14cm in width.
All materials will be provided, but feel free to bring along your own small beads to personalise your work

Full payment will be taken at time of booking (this is non refundable or transferable to a different workshop). However IF this workshops has to be cancelled you will of course receive a refund in full.

All materials and use of equipment are included, however it is recommended that you bring a few items to personalise the work (as listed above)

Please bring a packed lunch. However hot and cold drinks, biscuits and cake will be provided!

Under 16’s must be accompanied by a participating, paying adult.

Please be aware the workshop artists retain the intellectual property to their own ideas- you cannot go into business making, or running workshops showing copies of the artists work. You can however use the ideas for personal use and with your own students, if you are a teacher.
