Liz Cooksey: 2 day ‘Natures Grid’ workshop

£175.00

Inspired by nature, this hands-on 2 day workshop explores texture, colour, and form through stitch, collage, and mixed media. Using a wooden grid as a framework, participants will create small, tactile responses combining fabric, thread, paper, and wire. Taking observations from nature, we will explore and experiment with an eclectic mix of media, materials, and techniques. These explorations will take the form of small-scale responses to textures, shapes, and colours found within the natural world.
Participants will work with wrapping and binding techniques using fine hand-dyed threads and fabrics, alongside hand stitching for embellishment. Fragments of paper and print will be incorporated, and wire will be used to introduce structure, form, and shape.
Each participant will be given a small wooden grid frame to assemble using glue. This grid will become a container for your explorations, housing stitched elements, found treasures, and printed papers, creating a tactile composition.

All materials and equipment are provided but you may wish to bring and your own scrap fabrics and papers, threads, buttons and haberdashery to personalise the work. These will be a £10 charge on the day direct to Liz for the wooden grid.

The workshop is 10 - 4pm
